Council Amends Planning Limits Meaning Brisbane Flood Victims Can Rebuild Higher Homes
Developers will need to ensure essential services are flood-proof or built above flood levels.
Changes, which require approval from the state government, will apply for 12 months.
“The safety and protection of residents and their homes during and after a flood remains council’s highest priority,” Cr Cooper said in a statement.
However questions still remain about how much of the floods were caused by poor decisions related to releasing the Wivenhoe dam.
