Historic Huntly for lease

Historic Yarraville home Huntly is for lease.

In Willis Street, near the Sun Theatre and train station, the recently renovated home includes four bedrooms.

Its original owner, JM Cuming, was 105 years ago president of the AFL team now known as the Western Bulldogs.

He was also the founder of Melbourne’s first fertiliser company and a philanthropist – responsible for western suburb food kitchens.

The Yarraville home’s current owner, Brenda Bedford, has held it since the late 1990s.

“I have watched the west become a desirable place to live and the signs of a vibrant suburb are very evident here,” the vendor told Domain.

Kay & Burton Albert Park’s Samantha Middleton is the leasing agent; Huntly is seeking $1500 per week (or $1700 a week furnished).

The deal includes garden maintenance.
