Worst House Best Street in Toorak

Two properties which could be described as the worst homes in these two best streets have recently been listed for sale.

The first is 44 Albany Road, near the corner of Kooyong Road. The 4-bedroom unrenovated 1980s home is expected to sell for around $3 million when it goes to auction next week through Kay & Burton’s Clive Nettlefold.

Nearby, an original home at 6 Irving Road, on a relatively small block of 450 square metres, is also for sale – expecting $2.4 million. The campaign is being led by Changing Place’s Cameron Fisher.

Agents say the potential to turn the properties into multimillion dollar homes is straightforward – and point to recent sales in the area, as the evidence. Socialite Rose Porteous recently paid around $6 million for a near-new home in Barnard Street, while around the corner, 5 Yar Orrong Road sold for around $10 million in 2005.
