VicUrban Sole Victorian Winner at Award Night

The government-affiliated developer won the award for Master Planned Communities, at an event held at Crown Casino on Saturday.

The Urban Workshop office building at 50 Lonsdale Street was highly commended in the Rider Levett Bucknall Award for Office Developments, pipped by Adelaide’s City Centre Tower 1 office building.

Victorian developments did not score a mention in 12 other award categories.

Queensland picked up four awards, NSW and South Australia three each and Tasmania picked up one.

Also receiving an accolade this week was Lend Lease, which received a VicUrban award for environmental sustainability, for its office building at Docklands, The Gauge.

It is the first time VicUrban has awarded the ESD Award of Excellence, which signifies world’s best practice in ecologically sustainable development (ESD).
On completion, the building at 825 Bourke Street will be retained by the Lend Lease-managed Australian Prime Property Fund.

Lend Lease will occupy two levels, relocating from 140 William Street. It will be joined by IT giant Fujitsu, which will base its national operations at The Gauge.
