Toorak mansion built on site of Jason Donovan’s former family home seeking over $8 million
A near-new Toorak mansion, built on the site and using the footprint of a home formerly owned by entertainer, Jason Donovan, is for sale.
The Christopher Doyle designed residence at 1 Torresdale Court is expected to trade for between $8 million and $8.8 million.
With Tudor influences, the English style dwelling includes five bedrooms, a kitchen with porcelain benches, study, media room and children’s retreat.
Outside, a bluestone-paved terrace leads to a heated lap pool.
Torresdale Court is one of Toorak’s most exclusive cul de sacs, Marshall White’s Marcus Chiminello and Nicole French said.
Number 1 spreads a 575 square metre site.
The brokers are closing an expressions of interest campaign for the property on September 17.
Mr Donovan acquired 1 Torresdale Court in 2002, while cast in ABC series MDA.
He lived there with his wife, Angela, and children, Jenna and Zac, until selling in 2007 for $2.7 million.
Following that, the family moved to Britain, where the actor had been cast in musical Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Mr Donovan also upsized his family home in London’s Notting Hill, after quitting Toorak.
In June, it was announced the former Neighbours actor would be playing the role of Billy Flynn in the upcoming Melbourne season of musical, Chicago.
Last October, a Richmond house formerly owned by Mr Donovan at 46 Gibdon Street sold for $960,000. The actor paid $77,000 for this two bedroom brick terrace in 1987 and lived there for seven years, selling for $140,000.
