Thakral Holdings Close to Selling Wynyard Complex For $250 Million
The site has been the subject of a $1.3 billion redevelopment proposal that would add a new shopping centre and office building (pictured, right). However Westfield is expected to propose a different future for the site.
According to the AFR which reported the Westfield Group deal, the Macquarie Group is considering this unbuilt Wynyard office as its replacement headquarters after 2014 when its lease at 1 Martin Place ends.
Foot traffic around the Wynyard complex is expected to increase as office towers and a hotel is developed in Barangaroo South nearby.
