A trend towards owning a larger space has emerged, with 76% of Victorians buying their first home this year looking to purchase a house as opposed to a unit/apartment or townhouse, according to the 2009 Mortgage Choice First Homebuyers Survey. This is in comparison to 55% in 2008, and 76% nationally.
