Super Retail Group signs $14.8 million lease at Frasers Property Australia’s Rhodes Corporate Park
ASX-listed Super Retail Group is the latest major tenant to rent offices at the Rhodes Corporate Park in suburban Sydney.
The Brisbane-based company, whose brands include BCF, Rebel, Macpac and Supercheap Auto, has signed a 10-year lease worth $14.8 million for 3500 square metre space over two floors in Building B.
The deal includes the rental of 80 car parks.
Following the lease, the Rhodes Corporate Park will be 97.5 per cent occupied.
On a four hectare site known as 1 Homebush Bay Drive, the asset comprises seven mid-rise office buildings with a total lettable area of more than 90,000 sqm, an onsite gym, pool and childcare centre.
Rhodes Corporate Park has been owned since its inception in the early 2000s by the company now known as Frasers Property Australia, which is listed on the Singapore stock exchange.
It is managed by FPA, too – though the deal to Super Retail Group came after calling in agents Jason Wright and Chris Bailey from GJS and Tom Bartlett at Knight Frank Parramatta.
Large occupiers in the office complex include Citibank, DHL, Hewlett Packard, National Australia Bank, Nestle, Rawson Homes and Unisys.
FPA also has its national headquarters at Rhodes Business Park.
Rhodes is about 16 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD and 13 kilometres east of Parramatta.
FPA’s general manager, investment property, Chamoun Malki, said gross rentals at the business park are around one third, or less, of a comparable Sydney CBD office.
“FPA recently committed Rhodes Corporate Park as a participant in the City of Sydney’s Better Buildings Partnership program that aims to help companies collaborate and improve the performance and sustainability of buildings,” Mr Malki said.
