South Yarra Stables to be Redeveloped

The heritage-listed stables, which have not been seen publicly for almost 100 years, will form part of a $150-million plan to turn the former Surrey Road tip into a park, abutting a new village to be built on the site of existing council buildings. The development will back on to the popular Jam Factory, which is part owned by James Packer’s Challenger Group and is itself set to undergo a $700-million refurbishment, which will include apartments.
