Shannon Bennett, Madeleine West lists Toorak mansion

The Lansell Road home is expected to sell for $21-$23 million.

Chef Shannon Bennett and actress Madeleine West are selling a four-storey Toorak home after separating.

The fully renovated home includes several living areas and a reading room.

The two can expect $21-$23 million from 43 Lansell Road.

They paid pub baron Mazen Tabet $16m in 2017.

The already contemporary house was then fully renovated.

On 1590 square metres it contains a 10 car garage, five bedrooms, two kitchens, gym, library, study, reading room, rooftop garden and theatre.

The vendors, which split in 2018 after 13 years, are represented by Marshall White’s Marcus Chiminello and Nicole French.

Celebrity chef reweights business, property portfolio

Mr Bennett is behind Vue De Monde, which filled the Rialto space for decades the Melbourne Observation Deck.

In 2016 he sold two thirds of his hospitality enterprise to Singapore billionaires, brothers Robert and Philip Ng (story continues below).

The chef still holds other interests though, including at Sherbrook’s historic Burnham Beeches.

It is reported he lives between Melbourne and Byron Bay.

Ms West has continued to win TV roles.

The family moved to Toorak after selling South Yarra’s historic Barwon for $9.78m in late 2017.

A year later, they also offloaded a contemporary Lorne dwelling – 1200 Great Ocean Rd, Big Hill – for $4.025m.

Lansell Rd is considered one of Melbourne’s most exclusive streets – it was identified as where Darryl Kerrigan stole a wealthy defendant’s front gate in 1997 movie The Castle.

Last month we reported Mr Tabet was part of a consortium which acquired Phillip Island’s Isle of Wight site for a speculated $11 million.

He is also the Portsea Hotel landlord.
