SA government sells major industrial site

The state government’s urban renewal authority has sold a major Port Adelaide industrial site after a year.

Renewal SA is banking $19.6 million for the eight hectare tract, 360 Ocean Steamers Road, zoned Strategic Employment.

“It is one of the few remaining significantly sized parcels in the region,” JLL’s Kym Hutchens, who marketed the site with Martin James, said.

With heavy vehicle access and in immediate proximity to the Port River Expressway, it was marketed to transport, logistics and Port-centric industries.

“Through the release of this land, Renewal SA aims to support job creation and increased economic activity,” he added.

The government retains significant product in the area.

Port Adelaide is about 14 kilometres north west of Adelaide’s CBD.
