Piggery Near Bendigo up For Grabs
The lifestyle property, Bartlome Farms, promises “5-star accommodation” for the 10,000 pigs and piglets it accommodates in 26 eco-shelters. It includes many labour saving state-of-the-art features including automatic feeders, cooling shower sprays and hydraulic ramps guiding pigs up the proverbial “stairway to heaven”.
Elders Bendigo director and selling agent Graeme Forbes says Bartlome Farms will be sold with a secure commercial contract providing an assured annual income until 2016.
The 129-hectare farm includes a 250,000 litre Colorbond water tank, 8 further megalitres of dam storage and is allocated 15 megalitres per year from the Goulburn Murray water system. No porkies!
