Not for profit banks $21.6m for ex-HQ, laboratory
Kids Research Institute Australia has sold the Subiaco headquarters it quit seven years ago.
The not for profit banked $21.55 for 100 Roberts Road – a life sciences asset with laboratories, a research centre with several classrooms, as well as offices.
Designed and fitted with specialist plant and equipment, it contains 5875 square metres over three floors.
The site spreads 7075 sqm zoned Metropolitan Regional.
KRIA, which paid $2.1m in 1998, retained the property as an investment since relocating to the Perth Children’s Hospital.
The buyer is John Meredith’s Bravestar Group on behalf of a local private investor.
Subiaco is about four kilometres west of the CBD.
Specialist space
The majority of the Subiaco office (86 per cent) is leased to government backed groups.
Telethon Kids Institute’s ‘Clinikids’ occupies the balance for specialist autism therapy and support.
CBRE’s Derek Barlow and Aaron Desange, who represented KRIA, said Subiaco is a tightly held and sought after healthcare precinct.
“The property is positioned opposite the former Princess Margaret Hospital site which is planned for an exciting redevelopment under Development WA,” they added.
