National Union of Workers Buy 833 Bourke Street Docklands

The NUW said the new building was needed to accommodate the organisation’s 100 employees, and service the training needs of more than 1000 delegates.

It moved into the building with industry superannuation fund LUCRF late last year.

The NUW said the building offered bigger and better training and meeting rooms than its previous 20-year-old headquarters at 552 Victoria Street in North Melbourne.

To fund the Docklands purchase, the union sold its North Melbourne building for a reported $6.75 million.

The purchaser of that building, Storm Financial, has since gone into administration, with the North Melbourne building tipped to come on to the market again later this year.
