The prominent office rises above a BMW dealership exposed to Kings Way.

Myer has relocated its national support office, bringing its corporate team and new Apparel Brands employees under a single headquarters.

The new Myer office at 75 Dorcas Street, South Melbourne.

The retail giant has committed to 75 Dorcas Street, South Melbourne, for an initial 11 years.

Also exposed to Kings Way, over a BMW dealership, the space was until earlier this year occupied by ANZ.

Growthpoint Properties is the landlord; it paid SachsenFonds GmbH $166m in mid-2016. The 28,220 sqm building was valued at $190m in December.

Colliers’ Matt Cosgrave was the agent.

Myer will quit a support office at 1000 La Trobe St, Docklands, owned by Poly Global, which is presently for sale.

Apparel Brands comprises ex-Premier Investments’ brands Dotti, Jacqui E, Jay Jays, Just Jeans and Portmans, absorbed by Myer early last year.

Charter Keck Cramer’s Steve Kingston and Lachlan Devine represented the retailer.

This part of the city is about 1.5 kilometres from the CBD (continues below).

Myer was headquartered at 1000 La Trobe Street.

Myer shifts HQ

Across multiple floors, the South Melbourne headquarters is expected to accommodate some 1000 Myer staff (continues below).

“A key part of the integration of the two businesses is having a place where our more than 1000 strong support office team can work and collaborate together as we continue with the creation of the wider Myer Group,” Myer Group chief executive, Olivia Wirth, said of the integration of the retailer with the Apparel Brands business.

Growthpoint chief executive Ross Lees added the limited downtime between leases reflected the quality of the asset.

“Delivering a fully leased building with minimal downtime between ANZ’s lease ending in March 2026 and Myer’s lease commencing in June demonstrates the quality of the asset,” according to the executive.

Other office occupiers include ADCO Group, Auto Sports Group and Mondelez Group (formerly Cadbury).
