Myer Leases Space at QV

Myer will occupy 583 square metres at the corner of Swanston Street and Red Cape Lane, at Grocon’s QV complex. It will open a dedicated furniture, bedding and decorator homeware store after signing a lease last Monday, and moving stock this week.

The Myer space at 292 Swanston Street was formerly occupied by retailer AFL World, which occupied two levels before relocating to the Melbourne Cricket Ground earlier this year.

AFL World’s upper level space was leased by telecommunications group Sensis, which had outgrown offices it leases at 222 Lonsdale Street, also part of QV.

Myer’s existing retail headquarters – which spread over several streets including the Bourke Street Mall – is undergoing a major $500 million redevelopment, and is due to open in November 2009.

Commercial Retail Solutions’ David Warren and Ian Robertson, acting as tenant representative for Myer, said the retailer was looking for a location with strong exposure, and a clean presentation to match the Myer brand.
