MyDeal founder doubles down on Brighton waterfront

It is speculated the Ostend penthouse will dub as a guesthouse.

MyDeal founder and chief executive officer, Sean Senvirtne, is believed to have snapped up another waterfront Brighton property.

Sean Senvirtne in 2022 bought a block (outlined) next door to Ostend.

The penthouse of the c1934 Art Deco Ostend at 29 Seacombe Grove set the executive back $1.75 million last month according to sources – three weeks after it hit the market.

The dwelling neighbours and overlooks a 1727 sqm block Mr Senvirtne acquired in 2022 for c$22m including GST with plans for a new home.

That seller was Patricia Ilhan who for decades used the land as a playground for her family home next door.

Coincidentally that site, 19 Seacombe Gve, is making way for a new dwelling too.

Ostend penthouse

Penned by IG Anderson with Spanish Mission influences, Ostend rises three floors with nine units.

The penthouse contains two bedrooms, separate lounge and dining rooms and a garage (story continues below).

Uniquely, it also includes a private beach box.

Mr Senvirtne is speculated will retain the apartment as a guesthouse though this couldn’t be confirmed. It could also be an investment.

Marshall White’s Ben Vieth was the agent.

Formed in 2011, MyDeal was listed on the ASX in 2020.

Two years ago, Woolworths acquired an 80 per cent stake – providing a c$280m windfall for Mr Senvirtne, who stayed on as CEO.
