Mirvac appoints new CEO

Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz will leave Mirvac in June.

Mirvac has appointed Campbell Hanan as chief executive officer.

The quinquagenarian has controlled the company’s Commercial Property division and Integrated Investment portfolio, and been a member of the executive leadership team, since joining six years ago.

He will take up the role in March, replacing Susan Lloyd Hurwitz, who recently announced her retirement from the group effective next June.

“In addition to his six years at Mirvac, Campbell has 29 years of experience in the property and funds management industry, 12 of which were with Investa Office, where he served in a number of senior positions, including chief executive officer,” a Mirvac statement said.

“During [his] time at Mirvac he has made a significant contribution to our company, and he has been instrumental in contributing to our urban strategy and transforming our investment portfolio into a modern, sustainable, technology-rich offering that continues to be an important differentiator for Mirvac,” the group’s outgoing chair, John Mulcahy, added.

Mirvac turns 50

Mirvac was established by Robert Hamilton and Henry Pollack 50 years ago (story continues below).

“I am truly humbled and excited to be given the opportunity to lead Mirvac,” Mr Hanan said.

“Sue is handing over the business in a strong position with a clear strategy, a portfolio of leading assets and a high performing culture,” he added.

“We have an incredibly exciting future ahead of us,” according to the executive.

“I am committed to working with…the outstanding team we have at Mirvac to deliver on our urban asset creation and curation strategy and continue our leading approach to sustainability, innovation, gender equality and high performing culture”.

Mr Hanan’s fixed starting annual salary is $1.5 million with the potential to earn 1.5 times that if short and long term performance measures are met.
