Melbourne’s Former Australian Stock Exchange Building to be Redeveloped Into Apartments

The prominent building – in the pocket of Collins Street between Queen and Elizabeth streets – runs the length of the block, to Flinders Lane at the south.

“The first release of 136 apartments from the North Tower is happening in around eight weeks time,” a spokesman for owner M.Inc told Capital Gain. “Five levels at the base of the North Tower will be dedicated to approximately 4,000 square metres of commercial space.”

The new proposal replaces a plan in 2007 to redevelop the entire existing 22,000 square metre building into offices.

The ASX has moved twice since 357, first to 530 Collins Street and then to the Rialto, where it has been since 2006.
