First wave of Barbeques Galore showrooms hit leasing market
The first wave of Barbeques Galore showrooms are returning to the leasing market.
First cabs off the rank are two prominent former Melbourne stores, in Richmond and Preston.
The retailer’s company-owned network entered administration in February with 62 outlets closing as part of the restructure.
The last of these shut on Sunday, July 26.
Stores operating under the franchise network continue to trade.
“Barbeques Galore occupied some strong showroom locations so these properties provide businesses with the chance to secure highly visible sites with established retail appeal,” GrayJohnson’s Rory White, who is marketing the former Barbeques Galore showrooms with Anthony Boldrini, said.
“We expect interest from a range of occupiers including bulky goods operators, trade-related businesses, lifestyle retailers and showroom users,” he added.
Showrooms for lease
The ex-Richmond outlet, 313 Bridge Road, between Church Street and the suburb’s town hall, contains 1228 square metres.
The tram stops at the door.
There is a rear loading dock , side access abutting the McDonald’s, providing access to Church St, and customer parking (continues below).
“Bridge Rd remains one of Melbourne’s most recognised retail destinations and opportunities with this level of exposure and functionality are tightly held,” Mr Boldrini said.
“The combination of frontage, accessibility and surrounding retail and hospitality amenity creates a strong platform for a new occupier,” he added.
This pocket of Richmond is about three kilometres east of Melbourne’s CBD.
Prominent Preston corner
The Preston property forms part of a mixed-use building at 100 Bell St, between a Bunnings and an Officeworks.
It spans 1140 sqm with concrete floors and exposed ceilings.
Receiving natural light from three sides, with a rear loading dock, it is in the same business park as RSEA and Total Tools.
“This is a practical showroom asset in a proven retail and trade location with the flexibility to suit a range of businesses requiring exposure, access and operational efficiency,” Mr White said.
“The property sits close to Northland and the High St retail precinct with direct connections to major roads including Albert St,” he added.
