Eighteen months ago the property sold for $860,000, after being sold for $495,000 in 2002.
Real estate agents have told the Daily Telegraph there has been renewed interest in the 1884 property, since the Vatican officially recognised Mary MacKillop’s second miracle last month, putting her in line to be Australia’s first saint.
Sister Mary is considered a pioneer who “set out to provide the destitute with an education” and “used the building to teach small groups of children.”
The school moved to Mittagong in 1887.
