Marsh assigns DTF lease at Charter Hall’s 570 Bourke Street

Marsh has assigned a lease at Charter Hall’s recently refurbished 570 Bourke Street to Victoria’s Department of Treasury and Finance.

The Victorian government’s Department of Treasury and Finance has taken over a six year lease from multinational Jardine Lloyd Thompson at Charter Hall’s 570 Bourke Street.

The 2757 square metre space is A-grade and fitted.

It was offered by Marsh, which relocated the insurance business to its Docklands headquarters after consolidating two years ago.

CBRE’s Will Dungey and Andrew Peak with JLL’s Gellie Mendes marketed 570 Bourke Street during COVID conditions.

“In an agreement with Charter Hall, the lease was assigned to the Victorian government providing an opportunity for DTF to secure a large office floor with a high quality fit-out,” Mr Dungey said.

“The building’s environmentally sustainable design and amenities were another draw card for the department which is already home to a number of government tenants” (story continues below).

The six year assignment for the fit-out office was marketed during COVID conditions.

Next door to Bourke Place, 570 Bourke St was developed in 1972 and extended and refurbished with an atrium in 2015.

There is now 50,000 sqm of lettable area (with floorplates of about 2750 sqm which is above average).

It also includes 445 car parks.

With the assignment, the building continues to be fully occupied.

Department of Human Services, Victorian Legal Aid and Wood and Grieve are other tenants.
