Bradmill site earmarked for $900m village

A master-planned village which could have product worth $900 million upon completion is earmarked for Yarraville’s former Bradmill factory.

Planning minister Justin Madden, members of the local council and site owner, DE Group, are speculated will launch the Yarraville Gardens Estate, and a shopping centre, soon.

The proposal would contain more than 1000 dwellings – a mix of apartments and standalone houses – a library and bike paths.

It is also intended to add roads between Francis Street and Fogarty Road.

The 26 hectare site, prominent from the West Gate Freeway, is 10 kilometres west of Melbourne.
