Lockerbie, Kalkallo Announcement, Weeks Away

Delfin Lend Lease’s Lockerbie development, on farmland off the Hume Highway in Kalkallo, 30 kilometres north of Melbourne, did not appear in the state government’s list of approved property projects, unveiled in this week’s budget.

A spokeswoman for Mr Madden said the government expects to release new draft urban growth boundaries within a few weeks, and that Kalkallo is part of the overall urban growth boundary being reviewed.

The Lockerbie plan – to turn 1,100 hectares into a community the size of Shepparton – was first proposed about two years ago, but was not approved because the land fell outside of the government’s Urban Growth Boundary.
