Former home Scobie Mackinnon, Claire Adams seeks $7m

A South Yarra home once owned by ‘Scobie’ Mackinnon and his wife, Hollywood silent movie star Claire Adams, is for sale.

The pair lived at 220 Domain Road for years before moving to the Mooramong sheep station, at Skipton, in western Victoria.

They only knew each other three weeks before deciding to marry.

The South Yarra property is now owned by Sandy and Steven Nicholas, who manage a Richmond children’s fashion retailer.

Over two storeys, with five bedrooms, the Georgian sits on c930 square metres with an established garden, swimming pool and change room.

It is one of the priciest listings for the suburb this year – with a guide of more than $7 million.

An expressions of interest campaign closes on November 15.
