Habitat swoops on another Maroochydore site

Habitat paid $6.03 million for the Millwell Road East site.

Habitat Development Group has acquired another Maroochydore site for a high density residential project.

At 2 Millwell Road East (shaded, image top), neighbouring Sunshine Plaza, the two hectare Principal Centre zoned block is setting the builder back $6.03 million.

The Maroochydore CBD, replacing the Horton Park Golf Club.

About 7363 square metres is developable, this component came permit-ready for two buildings with a total 201 apartments.

The design also contains commercial space and car parking.

Maroochydore keeps rising

Considered the Sunshine Coast’s capital, a new Maroochydore Central Business District has been taking place on the 60 hectare former Horton Park Golf Club; in 2021 Centuria managed Primewest paid c$30m for a then-new office investment there, Foundation Place (story continues below).

Centuria managed Primewest bought Foundation Place in early 2021.

Brisbane based Habitat is also behind the region’s Corso project, under construction and set to contain 148 dwellings.

It also completed Market Lane, with 152 apartments.

CBRE’s Brendan Robins brokered the Millwell Road East deal.
