Green Message Getting Through to Home Buyers

In a survey of 1000 respondents the REIV commissioned from the Australian Research Group, 93 per cent identified water and energy-saving features as important when buying a home.

REIV chief executive officer Enzo Raimondo said that houses with energy and water-saving features would be in greater demand than those without – and advised sellers that environmentally friendly initiatives would maximise the interest in their properties.

"Victorians understand the impact that their homes and lifestyles have on the environment," Mr Raimondo said. "It won’t be long before we see energy-saving features included on sale boards."
