Gilson leases upstairs office for private dining space

Gilson’s 83 square metre private function room, with a balcony overlooking Royal Botanic Gardens, will cost $50,000 in the first year.

Restaurateur Jamie McBride has leased a studio office atop of his Gilson eatery for a private function room.

The contemporary 83 square metre area, 1/171 Domain Road, South Yarra, includes a balcony overlooking Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens.

Self-contained, with hydronic heating and split system air conditioning – the starting annual rent is $50,000.

Gorman Commercial’s Nathan May brokered the four year deal.

The agency said the restaurant had been looking to expand its footprint for some time “and this opportunity was too good to pass up” (story continues below).

South Yarra is about four kilometres south east of the city.

This site is located in the suburb’s exclusive Domain precinct.

The Gilson deal is the second upper-level city fringe office to have recently found favour with a retailer, following Cosh Living renting part of Bayley Stuart’s 600 Church St, Cremorne, building as a showroom.
