Fishy Pub on the Market, Near Wilsons Promontory

The Promontory Gate Hotel at Fish Creek, en route to Wilsons Promontory and about a three hour drive from town, is expected to fetch $1.65 million, with vacant possession, and appeal to prospective Melbourne sea-changers.

The property, known locally as The Fishy Pub, has a land area of about 8,300 square metres, and includes a 70-year old pub, which replaced another destroyed by fire in 1939, a large outdoor courtyard and nine motel suites.

Conway Commercial director and hotel broker John Conway says about 400,000 cars pass through Fish Creek annually on their way to the Prom, and Waratah Bay. The agency recently sold the Foster Hotel nearby for $2.35 million.
