Thirteen years after Chicago based Hyatt Hotels Corporation launched the Hyatt House brand – it is set to open in Australia – at South Melbourne.

Bookings for the guesthouse forming the lower four levels of the 19 storey Oasis Residences at 1-13 Cobden Street, a site also highly exposed to Kings Way, are being taken as of this month, with the firsts guests welcome from July 1.

Holder East – the project developer – is the landlord; it completed the tower last month.

It had been marketing 158 dwellings off-the-plan in a pure residential project since 2018.

Following the HHC commitment in 2023, that number dropped to 138.
