Ex-Sydney Kings HQ leased to club founder’s son
Founder of basketball jersey, footwear and apparel retailer Throwback, Michael Lazaris, has leased a major piece of a heritage listed warehouse – once the training base and headquarters of Sydney Kings, which his father, Andrew, co-founded.
The 2000 square metre space at 100 William Lane, Alexandria (pictured, top), is three times bigger than the flagship outlet it replaces at Darlinghurst – which is now for lease.
The company was established from a 10 sqm storeroom in 2011.

The William Lane property will be paid out with a store, warehouse and office which will dub as its headquarters.
A 1990s era basketball floor once owned by NBA player Luc Longley, previously used by the Kings, and in storage for two decades, is now being reinstated, while the facility will also include rings from the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
The store will also include a café, experiential retail, training space, a ‘Jordon zone’, supported by Nike, and a full size basketball court.
RWC South Sydney’s John Skufris was the agent.
Andrew Lazaris also owned the first private consortium to control an Australian professional sports team.
