Ex-Brennan IT office, data centre sold
The former Brennan IT data centre – the majority of which is offices – at Fortitude Valley, has sold.
The two level building, 73 Amelia Street, found favour with Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT), representing the construction sector, which plans to occupy for its headquarters.
It swooped on the asset which was being marketed for lease seeking $621,460 per annum net.
The sale price is speculated to circle $10 million.
It previously traded in late 2019 for $9.5m. It also sold in 2009 for $8.3m.
Revamp planned
On 1496 square metres also accessed by Water St, the Fortitude Valley building contains 1544 sqm and 13 car parks.
A renovation is planned, according to Colliers selling agent Hunter Higgins.
Several of the incoming owner’s business entities will be based there, he added.
Also today we are reporting Fortis is buying the former Ozcare aged care home at nearby New Farm from the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, with plans for apartments.
More to come.
