Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana list Stromboli villa
A villa built on volcanic rocks in Stromboli, an island off the north coast of Sicily, has been listed for sale by Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
The 235 square metre dwelling could be seeking more than $A10.5 million.
According to the listing by Lionel Luxury Real Estate, the vendors have renovated and furnished the property “with the same love and passion that they put into designing their clothes”.
Each of the villa’s seven suites are decorated in a different colour, the property advertisement said.
The fit-out includes local hand-made pieces, hand-painted majolica tiles and lace curtains.
Domenico Dolce, who was born in Sicily, and Stefano Gabbana have occupied the property as a summer retreat for more than 20 years. The pair separated in 2005 but still work together.
Built on a jagged coast, the site is configured with three Aoelian houses and about 300 square metres of terraces and gardens.
According to this item on website thelocal.it, an initial online listing advertised the price as €6.500.009.
However that figure was revised to “reserved negotiation”.
Lionel Luxury Real Estate told Italian news outlet La Repubblica that the initial published price was the result of a server error.
