Department of Education to Sell Meadowfair North Primary School Site, Broadmeadows
THE DEPARTMENT of Education can expect to reap about $3 million from the sale of a northern suburb primary school it will close later this year.
Broadmeadows’ Meadowfair North Primary School is expected to arouse interest from either an independent school, or residential developer, which could subdivide the 22,000 square metre block into small housing lots, or develop some kind of medium density apartment tower.
The school site has four street frontages, and is within walking distance to Colonial First State’s recently refurbished and extended Broadmeadows Shopping Centre.
Beller Commercial director and marketing agent Fred Nucara said the Broadmeadows school is zoned Residential 1, and must be sold before June 30.
Meadowfair North students will relocate to a new school under construction in Dimboola Road, and near the Broadmeadows train station.
