Commonwealth Bank sells eight ex-branches
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has sold eight ex-Bankwest branches – reaping a total $6.195 million.
Two of the assets were in Perth – at Morley (pictured, top), in the north east and Rockingham, nearly 50 kilometres south of town.
The others are at Kattaning, Margaret River, Manjimup, Moora, Norham, Port Hedland and Rockingham.
CBA announced it would shut all 60 Bankwest branches last year – ending a 129 year era of in-person branch service – to become wholly digital.
The last branch ceased trading September.
More to come
The ex-Bankwest branches formed part of a portfolio of 11 listed earlier this year. One more is under offer, according to CBRE marketing agent, Chloe Mason.
“The campaign generated significant interest with both owner occupiers and investors taking the opportunity to acquire the vacant properties for various uses,” she said.
