Carpe buys Eaglemont apartment site

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal approved the apartment project last year.

Carpe Group has acquired an Eaglemont family home over two blocks with plans for an apartment project.

The 2216 square metre site at 33-35 Mount Street, diagonally adjacent to Albert Jones Reserve, is costing $5.45 million.

The vendor paid $3.6m in December, 2018, before pushing through a proposal to replace a c1934 dwelling, St Clair, with 13 units over three floors.

A four storey scheme, allowing for two more dwellings, was also promoted during the most recent sales campaign, managed by Colliers’ Joe Kairouz and Hamish Burgess.

Carpe said it expects to start marketing the Eaglemont units in spring (story continues below).

The Eaglemont home near the crest of Mount Eagle sold for $3.6m in 2018.

Elsewhere in Melbourne the developer is constructing a three floor project at 12-14 Trentham St, Sandringham, and two level townhouse complex in Tatong Road, Brighton East.

The site (shaded, green) is diagonally adjacent to Albert Jones Reserve.

It recently completed another medium density block at 19 Male St, Brighton.

Mid-last year Carpe acquired a 1123 sqm site at 6 Grandview Road, Brighton, before obtaining a permit for a 10-dwelling development.

That property was re-listed earlier this year with a $6.2-$6.5m guide.
