Canterbury Mansion of Anthony Podesta Fails to Sell After Expression of Interest Campaign

The 5-bedroom mansion at number 39 sits on one of the bigger blocks in the wide tree-lined boulevard, considered one of the best streets in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The home includes two studies, a spa, gym and 16-seat theatre, and was anticipated to sell for between $10 million and $11 million, which would be a new record for the suburb.

The home is a hop, skip and a jump from the home pop stars Kylie & Dannii Minogue bought for their parents, reportedly as a present, in 2002.

Unusually for the precinct however, Mr Podesta’s house doesn’t include a tennis court. Much of the available land on the 3200 square metre block of land, is occupied by an established manicured garden.

An expression of interest campaign closed in mid-November. The house has now been listed for private sale with RT Edgar.
