Burson leases Preston showroom

The Preston building includes a modern showroom and office attached to a warehouse.
The property is on a 1227 square metre site at the north west corner of Fink Street and Chifley Drive.

Burson Auto Parts has leased a modern Preston office/industrial building for a store.

The Bapcor brand is paying starting annual rent of $145,000 for the two storey asset at 16 Fink Street, on the prominent north west corner of Chifley Drive.

With 1489 square metres of commercial and showroom space attached to a 637 sqm warehouse, the property also contains about 10 car parks.

Gray Johnsons Rory White said the lease, for an undisclosed “long-term”, was struck with minimum incentives.

The property is 200 metres south of Bell St, on a major route into one of Preston’s commercial areas, he added.

It is also about a kilometre from the Northland Shopping Centre, owned by GPT Group and Vicinity (story continues below).

Elsewhere in the north, the ASX-listed car parts brand has stores at Brunswick East, Campbellfield, Coburg North, Heidelberg West and Thomastown.

The Preston deal comes 15 months since Burson leased a 7218 square metre office headquarters unexpectedly vacated by Kaufland following a renovation at Dexus’ Axxess Business Park, in Mount Waverley.

The retailer was co-established in 1971 by Garry Johnson, who is a Bapcor shareholder.
