Brunetti commits to popular retail strip

Penny Lane is under construction in Moonee Ponds.

Pasticceria Brunetti Classico is expanding with operator Fabio Angele leasing a 345 square metre space within Giancorp’s Penny Lane project, under construction in Moonee Ponds.

Set to open in November, the Puckle Street restaurant is expected to accommodate up to 130 customers.

It will add to the business’ flagship Lygon St, Carlton, outlet, from which it has in recent years started outputting hot food as well as sweets.

Including Brunetti Oro, established in 2021 by sibling Yuri following a split with Fabio, the brand also trades from inside the city’s Myer store and occupies a cafe and distribution centre near ISPT’s Barkly Square, in Brunswick (story continues below).

The latest lease comes three months since Palace Cinemas confirmed it would operate an 11-screen cinema at Penny Lane, also set for about a dozen more shops and c114 apartments in two 10 floor buildings, one facing Young St.

Guzman y Gomez recently moved into one of the projects’ other retail tenancies.
