Baby Bunting rents ex-car dealership

Baby Bunting has rented the Hawthorn East property for an initial eight years.

Baby Bunting has rented the ex-Hawthorn BMW dealership.

The 1332 square metre standalone building at 693-695 Burwood Road, Hawthorn East, has 27 car parks.

The retailer will relocate from a 1525 sqm space at the ground floor of Caydon’s Atria building at 209 Burwood Rd, Hawthorn – a little closer to the CBD.

Baby Bunting moved to that tenancy in 2013 from Balwyn.

Last August the group committed to a 22,300 sqm distribution centre on 4.6 hectares at Pellicano’s M2 Business Park, at Dandenong South.

BMW moved out of 693-695 Burwood Road following the business’ sale last year to Jowett Motor Group, which has an alternative dealership in South Yarra (story continues below).

The Hawthorn East property is configured with a showroom and office.

A warehouse, workshop and storage is accessed from 26 Lilydale Grove.

All up the land spreads 2100 sqm.

The suburb is about seven kilometres east of the city.

Baby Bunting has signed for an initial eight years – paying a starting annual rent of c$390 per sqm, per annum, gross.
