Another piece of Coburg’s former Pentridge Prison – now a master-planned, residential-based mixed use village taking shape in stages – has sold.

The 1100 square metre plot, 45S Pentridge Boulevard, at the north east corner of Urquhart Street, is collecting $9.75 million from Michael and Omran Dib’s Blue Earth Developments.

Zoned Activity Centre, it came permit-ready for a 16 level, 201-unit apartment, containing predominantly with one and two bedrooms, and a ground floor retail tenancy.

A basement, with car parking, has already been developed.

Golden Peak Investments, the seller, was represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Joe Kairouz, Hamish Burgess and Leon Ma (story continues below).

The deal comes two years since Blue Earth picked up the suburb’s ex-Coburg High School at 81A Bell St.

Covering 1.1 hectares, that property is earmarked for c444 dwellings, a mix of townhouses and apartments, the latter in towers between nine and 11 floors.

Coburg is about eight kilometres north of Melbourne’s CBD.
