ABC radio announcer Richelle Hunt to sell fully renovated Edwardian home
ABC radio host and journalist Richelle Hunt (pictured, left) is selling a historic home in the bohemian St Kilda East pocket of Balaclava, in Melbourne’s south.
Ms Hunt, who started her career with 774 ABC Melbourne in 2006 as a traffic reporter and is now the main Afternoons presenter between Monday to Thursday and co-hosts the popular afternoon show The Friday Revue, with Brian Nankervis, can expect to bank between $1.35 million and $1.45 million from the sale of 5 Elm Grove.
The c1915 red-brick Edwardian (pictured top and bottom) includes three bedrooms, separate lounge and dining rooms and a rear courtyard.
Fully renovated since Ms Hunt bought it in 2011, the kitchen includes calacutta and marble bench tops. The home also includes pressed metal ceilings and four original fireplaces.
The location, near the Ripponlea train station and Glen Eira Road retail strip, is about six kilometres from the CBD.
Chisholm & Gamon’s Sam Gamon and Rhianna Hoyle are representing Ms Hunt, who has worked as a producer on numerous 774 ABC radio programs.
For five years until having her daughter in 2015, Ms Hunt was a station reporter working on a range of community focused stories, including the Black Saturday Fires.
On Tuesday the ABC announced it would sell its redundant Ripponlea studio in nearby Gordon Street, Elsternwick, a deal expected to reap the public broadcaster between $45 million and $50 million.
