Socceroo Aaron Mooy (pictured, right) has found a buyer for his modern Yarraville penthouse.

The three-bedroom unit at 608/125 Francis Street sold at auction today for $901,000 following competition from three bidders.

Mr Mooy bought the apartment off-the-plan for $914,000 in 2015.

He has no intention of investing in another Melbourne property soon, according to realestate.com.au, which is reporting today’s sale result in this item.

On the top (sixth) floor of Yarraville’s tallest residential building, the north-east facing dwelling captures 200-degree views including to the CBD, about six kilometres away.

The apartment (outlined) is at the top of a six-storey complex in Yarraville, about six kilometres west of Melbourne.

The property also includes two bathrooms, a wraparound balcony, two car parks and two storage cages.

The Yarraville train station is about 600 metres away.

Biggin & Scott’s Matthew John inherited the listing of 608/125 Francis Street last month. It was previously for sale with another agency.

Mr John’s marketing campaign ahead of Saturday’s auction attached a price guide of $800,000 to $880,000.

Sydney-born Mr Mooy, who turns 29 years old this September, has played for Scottish Premier League’s St Mirren FC and later, the Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne City, in Australia’s A-League competition.

In 2017, English Premier League Club Huddersfield Town paid £10 million to secure Mr Mooy.
