Metro snaps up final stage of Brisbane’s Brickworks Park

Brickworks Park has been taking shape in stages.

Metro Property Development has acquired the final residential stage of Brisbane’s Brickworks Park.

The seller was Singapore-backed CDL Australia.

The Stage 3 site at Alderley is approved for 18 dwellings

The community, masterplanned with 350 dwellings, includes shared pools, a gym and park.

171 apartments and 51 townhouses have been completed.

The deal follows CDL’s decision to refocus investment on Singapore and exit overseas markets outside its hospitality business.

Brickworks Park

Brickworks Park is being developed on the former Newmarket Brickworks quarry, also known as the Brisbane Bricks site, at Alderley, where brickmaking continued from 1912 until 1987 (continues below).

Metro and Creation delivered Stage 2 of Brickworks Park for CDL.

Metro plans to start civil works before Christmas, with completion of the final stage targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027.

The approved development completes the residential project, which retains the heritage-listed Hoffman Stack chimney, a landmark of about 50 metres associated with the former Newmarket Brickworks.

Metro and its construction arm, Creation Projects delivered Stage 2, comprising 51 three-bedroom townhouses.

Metro, Creation and CDL previously partnered on the 96-townhouse Treetops development at Kenmore, valued at $100 million.

This pocket of Alderley, at the Newmarket border, is six kilometres north-west of the CBD.
