House of Golf expands with new Melbourne distribution centre

The House of Golf has leased a Melbourne distribution centre.

The recently completed building (pictured, right) at 12 Rosebride Place, Truganina, contains 3210 square metres – 350 sqm of which is offices – on a 5800 sqm block with 22 car parks.

Pitch Golf just leased a Melbourne property for its first Australian facility.

Axiom Group just built it speculatively; the property forms part of the Axiom Industrial Estate.

“The House of Golf is a fantastic Australian success story and this new distribution centre provides the business with the platform required to support its next phase of growth,” CBRE’s Cameron Giles, who brokered the lease with Lachlan May and Fergus Pragnell, said.

The deal comes two months since realestatesource.com.au reported the local arm of a London based concept Pitch Golf, led by Scott McGregor, rented a Melbourne property for its maiden Australian facility.

Two months earlier Dean Petrie leased a Perth property for his membership-only club and bar, X-Golf.

On the sale side, Crown Resorts, under the new control of Blackstone, last year sold Heatherton’s Capital Golf Club to Lindsay Fox who it is speculated could be planning an industrial development.

The City of Moreton Bay also divested an ex-golf course in Brisbane’s Brendale.

Another golf-related deal

House of Golf’s Truganina facility was asking $110,000 annual net rent.

Accessed via four roller doors, the building contains six 40-foot container bays (continues below).

There is also power supply up to 1500 amps.

The internal warehouse clearance is 14 metres.

The block, with a hardstand area, is fenced with remote gates.

“This new facility provides the scale, functionality and strategic location required to strengthen our supply chain, improve inventory management and enhance service levels for customers across Australia,” House of Golf managing director, Michael Button, said.

Estate under construction

Developed by Axiom and delivered by ARK Industrial, some 38,000 sqm has been leased within the Truganina estate in recent years.

Last April we reported the last two blocks offered for sale, sold, for a combined $22.7m.

“We’re continuing to see strong demand for best-in-class industrial facilities across Melbourne’s western corridor, particularly from occupiers focused on improving operational efficiency, supply chain capability and scalability,” Mr Giles said.

“Strategically positioned within one of Australia’s most established logistics precincts, the facility offers direct access to the Deer Park Bypass, Western Ring Road, Melbourne Airport and the Port of Melbourne, providing connectivity to major domestic and international freight networks,” he added.
