Stockland bulks size of Brunswick project
Stockland is seeking to almost double the number of apartments planned for a Brunswick timber yard it bought in 2020.
The Sydney based property giant has applied to build 223 dwellings at 429-435 Albert Street.
It comes five years since the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal permitted to the parcel for 129 flats in two tower, of eight and nine levels (artist’s impression, top).
The former industrial pocket was rezoned for residential just before COVID.
Mirvac and Milieu Property recently completed the build to rent project, Liv Albert Fields, with 498 apartments, at nearby 397 Albert St (continues below).
That site spanning 9850 square metres was also created in 2019 following a planning amendment allowing the former industrial lots to make way for nine level buildings.
Stockland’s by comparison is 4010 sqm.
The block has in recent months been fully cleared.
