YMCA sells upper ground floor of Carlton’s College Square

YMCA has occupied the 420 square metre space (marked) at College Square since Becton completed the building 20 years ago.

The YMCA has sold an upper ground floor piece of the 12-storey College Square student accommodation complex, in Melbourne’s Carlton.

The 420 square metre space at 570 Lygon Street is speculated to be trading for less than $2 million but this could not be confirmed.

With the potential to be configured and subdivided down as apartments, the offering was marketed to residential developers as a shell.

Also with 22 car parks – a commercial suitor, like a medical centre, or a small supermarket, could have considered it buying it (story continues below).

Gill Property’s Steve Messina, Steve Bolton and Graham Hemingway were the marketing agents.

College Square contains 690 units and is about two kilometres north of the city.

YMCA occupied the are known as Lot S9, 570 Lygon Street, as a community space since Becton completed the tower in 1990.
