Will Foster’s Sell its Abbotsford Brewery?
“The costs associated with relocating the manufacturing infrastructure from Abbotsford, would be enormous,” said one source. “This makes it different to Sydney’s Kent Street site, which was already vacant.”
Foster’s group property manager Chris Noble tried to put the matter to rest. “We are committed to retaining ownership of the Abbotsford brewery site. The buildings offered for sale do not impact the brewery’s operations.”
Others however were more skeptical.
“The brewery is the best development site available in Melbourne,” said one source. “Developers would be jumping over themselves to buy in.”
