VicTrack Readying to Redevelop Major Wodonga Site

THE Victorian state government’s development arm, VicTrack, is rerouting rail tracks in Wodonga, at the New South Wales state border.

The decision will open up 40 hectares of land in the town centre, allowing the construction of a mini-city – speculated to include a new city square, and a five star hotel.

“Because the rail will no longer run through the centre of Wodonga, we’ve got a once-in-a-hundred year opportunity to redevelop the city,” VicUrban general manager Mark Williams told the AFR, adding the project is a “great story” for the precinct.
