Vale veteran Albert Park real estate agent John Holdsworth

Veteran Albert Park residential real estate agent John Holdsworth passed away last week.

The broker, who held a position as director with Greg Hocking Holdsworth Albert Park, serviced the inner bayside suburb for 30 years.

Mr Holdsworth called the Albert Park region home for five decades.

He was also president of the local Neighbourhood house, a local creche, and South Melbourne Districts Junior Football Club.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday at St Silas Anglican Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requested a donation to the Cabrini Hospital in memory of John.

Rob Curtain, a former colleague and friend said “John was admired by the community, not just by those he sold to or for”.

“He managed to fit two minutes into 60 seconds but it was always his integrity that I remember when I worked with him in the 1980s, something that never left me”.

“It’s a shame there isn’t more like him in our industry,” added Mr Curtain, who heads Peninsula Sotheby’s International Realty and paid tribute to Mr Holdsworth on his @peninsulaproperties Instagram account.
